Our camp theme changes weekly to ensure that children’s interests are explored and we keep our ratios low so each cabin can build a familiar, community environment.

LEAD COUNSELORS (18+ YEARS OF AGE)

Lead counselors are responsible for creating a fun, exciting, and safe environment each week. Job duties include building a community atmosphere in their cabin by getting to know their campers, leading activities that are consistent with our weekly theme, and using their own interests and hobbies to provide a variety of fun and interesting activities for campers to participate in during cabin time. Lead Counselors must be at least 18 years old and have one year or more of experience working with children.

 

ASSISTANT COUNSELORS (16+ YEARS OF AGE)

Assistant Counselors help the Lead Counselors to maintain an exciting cabin atmosphere. Job duties include moving between multiple cabins and building relationships with the campers in those cabins, collaborating with Lead Counselors to help lead activities, and being available to lend a helping hand if the Lead Counselors require assistance. Assistant Counselors must be at least 16 years old and show a desire to work with children.


SEASONS AVAILABLE

Winter Break, Dec 18-22

Summer Break, June 17-Aug 16th (able to work a minimum of 4 weeks)


  • Employment Requirements

    A reference check and criminal background check will be conducted on each candidate. Once an employment offer has been extended, each staff member must successfully complete a TB test and Child Protective Services background check within 30 days of their first day of employment. If you have previously completed a TB test within the past year, you must provide official documentation showing you have met this requirement.

  • Required Experience

    Camp Columbia staff members represent a variety of experiences and talents. The foundation is a love for Christ and children. Specific qualifications, and in some cases, certifications, are required and vary by role and camp program.

  • Work Hours

    In some cases you are able to work up to 9 weeks in the summer, not required for employment. Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.
