Sermon Series: Bridging Christmas

Since followers of Jesus first celebrated Christmas in the 3rd Century, the holiday has always been a bridge between the secular and the sacred. Perhaps this is appropriate, since the Bible presents the incarnation of God in the person of Jesus as a bridge between the Creator and Creation. As Jesus spans the gap between God and us, so Christmas spans a gap between the Body of Christ, the church, and the secular culture that is its mission field. While we may not appreciate secular expressions of Christmas, we should recognize it as a bridge to those around us.
